Saturday, May 17th, the Carteret community came together for a meaningful cause as participants gathered at Carteret Middle School for the annual Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk. URSB was proud to be part of this inspiring event that showcases the best of our hometown spirit.
Supporting Student Leadership
Before the walk officially began, URSB had the honor of presenting a $500 donation to Carteret Conquers Cancer. Our Assistant Vice President/HR Director Amanda D’Alessio and Business Development Officer Corey Jones presented the check to Tara Romero, President of Carteret Conquers Cancer, recognizing the incredible work this student-led organization does throughout the year.
Carteret Conquers Cancer demonstrates the power of young people taking action on issues that matter. Through bake sales, bracelet sales, and events like this annual walk, these dedicated students have made fundraising for cancer research a year-round commitment. Their leadership and compassion inspire our entire community.
Community Banking in Action
As Carteret’s hometown bank since 1914, URSB believes in supporting initiatives that strengthen our community and address important causes. The fight against cancer touches so many families, making this student-led effort particularly meaningful.
Events like the Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk remind us why community banking matters. When local organizations work to make a difference, having a local bank that can respond quickly and meaningfully to support their efforts creates a stronger, more connected community for everyone.
Looking Forward
We’re grateful to have been part of this special morning and inspired by the dedication of the students who organized this event. The success of the 5K Walk demonstrates what’s possible when young people take leadership on important causes and when a community rallies around them.
Congratulations to Carteret Conquers Cancer on another successful event, and thank you to all the participants who walked for such an important cause. At URSB, we’re proud to stand with our community in supporting efforts that make a real difference in the fight against cancer.
