This Saturday, May 17th, the URSB team will be lacing up our walking shoes and heading to Carteret Middle School for an event that embodies the community spirit we cherish. The annual Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk brings together neighbors, businesses, schools, and families to support cancer research and raise awareness about a disease that has touched so many lives in our community.

A Student-Led Initiative Making a Difference

What makes this event particularly special is that it’s organized by Carteret Conquers Cancer, a student-led club dedicated to fighting cancer through community service and fundraising. Throughout the year, these inspiring young people organize bake sales, bracelet sales, and other activities to raise funds for cancer research. Their dedication demonstrates how even our youngest community members can create meaningful change when they work together for a common cause.

As a community bank that’s been part of Carteret since 1914, URSB is honored to support initiatives that strengthen our hometown and improve lives. We believe in the power of local action to address even the biggest challenges, and the Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk exemplifies this principle perfectly.

Walking Together for a Healthier Community

At URSB, we believe that community banking means more than just providing financial services—it means actively participating in initiatives that make our hometown stronger, healthier, and more vibrant. The Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk is a perfect opportunity to put those values into action.

We hope to see many of our customers, neighbors, and friends this Saturday as we walk together in support of cancer research and the remarkable students who have taken on this important cause.

After all, when it comes to building a better community, every step counts.
